When divorce becomes a family affair

There have been a lot of headlines lately related to the Focus Family First business offerings!

In a recent blog, the topic of relocation pertaining to children and a parenting plan came up, thanks to the Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner divorce. Now the divorce is making headlines from another angle; sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra Jonas is reported to be torn, loving both Joe and Sophie, and their children, Chopra’s nieces. Sophie has unfollowed Priyanka on Insta, sky’s the limit for BuzzFeed’s click bait, you get the picture.

Backing away from BuzzFeed, there is a real issue here. “Divorce” means a lot of things to different people, but most often one thinks of it as a means to an end between two people. Go through divorce to get a divorce. Adverb, noun, all the things.

Of course, we say, children are impacted too. And, of course, my parents as well. And, it’s hard because my spouse’s younger sibling is my business partner. Also …

Again, you get the picture.

People are complicated so we shouldn’t be surprised when divorces are too.

Focus Family First offers the option to gift family transition coaching to extended family members. We are here to help, providing resources, coaching, and support, through all stages of divorce and other times families face a transition.

The truth is, divorce is a big deal. It’s a legal exercise, tied to pain points and triggers at any, or all!, phases of the process. There is no set timeline for processing transition, big or small.

Send us a message or any questions, coaching can help!
